The Weston Family have claimed the top spot in the retail category of this year's Sunday Times Rich List.

Known as Ireland’s richest family, The Westons have a net worth of £10.5bn thanks to their portfolio, which includes many different stores such as London department store Fortnum & Mason, Ireland’s biggest department store Arnotts, and department store chain Brown Thomas. They came ninth overall on the main Rich List.

Mahmud Kamani and family, the owner of online fashion sites Boohoo, BoohooMan and PrettyLittleThing, came ninth and have a net worth of £1bn, which has grown by £258m over the past 12 months. Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green and Lady Tina Green came fifth on the list of richest retailers with a net worth of £2bn. 

Retail couple Chrissie Rucker and Nick Wheeler, Asos founder Nick Robertson, and Missguided founder Nitin Passi also made the list. 

New entries this year included Tarak Ramzan and family, the owners of fast fashion chain Quiz, who have a net worth of £166m.
