Tesco has invested in staff wellbeing with the introduction of virtual GP appointments.
For the first time, the supermarket’s benefits package will give staff members and their immediate family access to unlimited appointments with a GP, seven days a week. These will be conducted through an online video consultation or phone call.
In addition to offering advice and reassurance, GPs will be able to issue private prescriptions.
Staff will also benefit from an expanded range of wellbeing services through the supermarket’s Employee Assistance Programme. This will include access to sleep therapists, nutritionists, counsellors, exercise coaches and physiotherapists, with the services available 24 hours a day for instant advice and guidance.
The expansion of staff wellbeing services follows Tesco’s biggest-ever investment in colleague pay over the past year to bring the hourly rate to £11.02.
