Poundland is to take on around 1,200 seasonal staff members to work in its stores in the run-up to Christmas.
The temporary roles will end on Christmas Eve, although some colleagues may be taken on permanently if positions are available.
As a thank-you to all 18,000 Poundland and Dealz team members for their hard work, the retailer is giving them a £25 voucher to spend in-store between December and January. In addition, its regular colleague discount will double from 10% to 20% during November.
Poundland has also confirmed that its stores will be closed on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day for the third consecutive year.
