It has been announced that Phil Hackney, the ex-Pets at Home executive director will be joining Shop Direct as operations director.
Including digital department stores such as Littlewoods.com, Very.co.uk and VeryExclusive.co.uk, the online retailer is the second largest in the UK.
Mr Hackney, who will be joining Shop Direct in the new year will be responsible for fulfilment, customer service and logistics and will report to Alex Baldock, the CEO.
As a graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Mr Hackney’s career started at Boots where he spent 12 years in logistics operations, then moved to tech data where he worked for six years. Since 2007 he has been executive director at Pets at Home.
Commenting Alex Baldock, said: “I am really looking forward to acting on Phil’s ideas to take our operations to the next level.”
Mr Hackney added: “Shop Direct is on a tremendous growth trajectory and I am very excited about the prospect of using my skills and experience to help deliver on the promise to make good things easily accessible to more people.”
