Jewellery brand Pandora has appointed Byron Clayton as its new chief HR officer.

Due to take up his role on 1 February, Clayton will join the business from IKEA where he has held the position of deputy chief people officer. Prior to this, he worked in HR leadership positions at Nokia, Microsoft, Maersk, AstraZeneca, and Mercer.

In his new position, he will report to Pandora chief executive Alexander Lacik and serve on the company’s executive leadership team.

A US citizen, Clayton has lived and worked in the US, Singapore, Thailand, Finland, Denmark and the UK. He now lives in Copenhagen with his Danish wife and two sons.

At Pandora, he will succeed Erik Schmidt who joined the company in 2019 and has played a key role in the globalisation of Pandora’s people and leadership practices.
