Morrisons have been reported to be joining with food sharing app, Olio, to reduce food wastage in their South London stores. The move would initially see surplus food from the store in Walworth Road, collected and redistributed to the local community through the use of the app. Co-Founder of the app, Tessa Cook said that this would lead to the expansion of the scheme through further locations but not time schedule for this had been agreed as of yet. Morrisons now joins Sainsbury’s as one of the other major supermarket chains who use the service, with Sainsbury’s being the first to work with Olio under their Waste Less, Save More campaign.
