Morrisons has stepped up its food waste initiative with 50% more Too Good to Go “Magic Bags” of unsold food that has reached its best before date.

Until 24 December, its stores will make up 50% more Too Good to Go ‘Magic Bags’ of unsold food that has reached its best before date. They contain around £10 worth of fresh food, including fruit and veg, bakery and deli items, but are sold via Too Good to Go app for only £3.09.

This comes after the supermarket’s pledge to reduce 50% of its food waste by 2030, as well as to help customers stick to a budget this year.

Morrisons first partnered with Too Good to Go in November 2019, since then customers have saved 432,433 Magic Bags from going to waste and prevented 1,081 tonnes of necessary CO2 emissions.
