Lidl is to recruit over 1,500 warehouse team members across its existing regional distribution centre and has also announced plans to build a new warehouse on a 35-acre site in Leeds.
The retailer has submitted plans to Leeds City Council for a 54,000 square metre building which will create over 400 jobs once fully operational.
Over the last five years, Lidl has opened four regional distribution centres in Motherwell, Peterborough, Doncaster and a second site in Belvedere. It is also working to open its largest distribution centre to date in Luton which will create 1,500 jobs.
With more than 960 stores and 31,000 employees, Lidl is planning further expansion across the UK throughout 2023.
