Jollyes is to invest £1 million over the next 18 months in boosting its number of in-store vet clinics, grooming parlours and other pet services.
Until the summer of 2024, the retailer will be working to double the number of stores that offer community pet clinics, double the clinics’ opening hours and double the number of dog grooming locations.
To facilitate the growth, Jollyes has promoted regional manager Colin Neave to the newly created role of head of services. It has also appointed Dr Adrian Ward MRCVS to the Jollyes board to bring veterinary experience to the leadership team.
In addition, Jollyes has partnered with Leeds-based Eville & Jones to provide in-store veterinary services from fully trained and Royal Veterinary College-accredited vets. It is also rebranding its pet spas as The Jolly Groomer.
From 13 March, Jollyes will introduce vet clinics across eight of its Northern Ireland stores in Ballymena, Lisburn, Lurgan, Banbridge, Newry, Newtownabbey, Belfast and Bangor. Meanwhile existing clinics in 45 Jollyes shops will have their opening hours extended.
The retailer is expecting its turnover to hit £100 million in its current financial year and is also aiming have 100 stores within 18 months.
