Popular department store House of Fraser has announced that it is to open a new store in the UK at Rushden Lakes retail and leisure park in Northamptonshire.

This will be the first store to open in the UK since 2008 and is looking to open its doors in 2017. House of Fraser was the third letting at the retail park and will join the likes of Marks & Spencer and H&M.

The department store will be offering services such as order in store and buy and collect with its premium brands to make it more accessible to customers.

Chief executive of House of Fraser, Nigel Oddy said: “A physical store presence will allow us to serve a catchment area where House of Fraser has previously had a loyal customer base, as well as providing an opportunity to introduce our proposition to new customers.

“Renowned for our wide range of brands, including our exclusive private label brands such as Linea and Biba, we will now look forward to creating a premium shopping experience for our customers to enjoy when the complex opens in 2017.”

Chief executive at LXB, developer of Rushen Lakes, Tim Walton said: “Rushden Lakes will be a new generation of shopping parks with strong retail and leisure mix, making it an attractive proposition for House of Fraser and other quality retailers.”
