Sailing brand Henri-Lloyd is to be acquired by the Odlo outdoor and performance clothing company for an undisclosed sum.
Founded 60 years ago by Henri Strzelecki as a waterproof clothing company, Henri Lloyd has been credited with several world-firsts within the technical clothing market that have today become industry standards. These include seam taping garments for waterproofing and the invention of the nylon non-corrosive zip.
The company is a technical clothing partner of both GBR Sail GP Team and INEOS Britannia and will continue to develop the relationships following the acquisition.
Henri-Lloyd currently has a team of 85 in its UK retail business.
The acquisition comes just a few months after Odlo announced the acquisition of Janus, a merino clothing manufacturer. Odlo is owned by Monta Rosa Capital.
