Frasers Group has banned staff from working at home on Fridays after some employees were found to be posting too frequently on social media.
According to The Sun, the parent company of Sports Direct, Flannels and House of Fraser has put an end to its flexible Friday policy that was introduced in 2020 and asked staff to work in the office all week instead.
The newspaper highlighted an internal memo sent by the company’s chief operating officer, David Al-Mudallal, which said that Friday had become the most unproductive day of the week.
The memo also said there were “too many examples of people or teams not being contactable when they need be… and colleagues who via their social media profiles are demonstrating they’re not treating Friday as a working day.”
