Footfall across UK retail destinations declined by 7% last week from the previous seven day period despite the sunny weather.

According to figures from retail specialist Springboard, there was a drop of 10.2% in shopping centres and 6.9% in retail parks. However, high streets experienced a more modest decline of 5.5% as they benefited from activity on Easter Sunday.

Springboard’s figures also show that footfall last week was 12.7% higher than in the same week last year.
