Luxury brand Burberry has created two new leadership roles within its executive team.
Giorgio Belloli has been appointed as chief digital, customer and innovation officer while Delphine Sonder has been hired as chief merchandising officer.
Both appointments have been made with immediate effect.
Belloli previously worked for more than nine years at Farfetch where his most recent role was chief commercial and sustainability officer. Prior to that, he worked with the Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan and Prada fashion brands.
At Burberry, he will be responsible for heading up the brand’s global ecommerce, digital product and analytics teams, as well as a newly-formed innovation function.
Meanwhile Sonder has worked for nearly five years at Saint Laurent where she was general merchandising director. She has also held senior roles at Louis Vuitton and Chloe.
Her new role will include leading Burberry’s merchandising and global planning across ready-to-wear and accessories, as well as product strategy.
Both Belloli and Sonder will report to Burberry chief executive Jonathan Akeroyd and will be based at Burberry’s headquarters in London.
