Asda ‘s latest Income Tracker has found that household disposable incomes declined by 18% in June compared to the same period last year as people continue to be impacted by the cost of living crisis.
Families were found to be an average of £43.95 a week or £175.80 per month worse off compared to June 2021.
Asda discovered that the average household had £200 per week left after paying tax and essential bills in the month and that 20% of UK households now have ‘negative disposable income’.
The supermarket’s figures also show that household disposable income fell for the eighth consecutive month in June.
Asda has recently launched a new ‘Essential Living Hub’ where customers can access hints, tips and hacks on how to save energy, budget better, buy and cook smarter and entertain children for free during the cost of living crisis.
It has also extended its £1 kids’ café meals, with no minimum adult spend, until the end of the year.
