Aldi is to create more than 6,000 new roles this year as it continues its UK expansion.

The supermarket said in statement that new stores are planned for towns and cities such as Norwich and Newcastle, while shops in Huddersfield and Shrewsbury will launch next month.

Aldi currently operates more than 990 stores across the UK and employs around 40,000 people.

The supermarket is also seeking to recruit for 450 roles within its 11 regional distribution centres.
