This role leads corporate communications - externally and to colleagues - on our strategy, performance and governance, developing our corporate narrative and delivering it through strong communications strategies, handling, and advice. You will be responsible for: Developing and delivering strong communications plans for key corporate announcements, including financial results and strategic projects. Providing trusted communications counsel to leadership teams, anticipating and managing risks. Building strong relationships with the retail and business journalists that affect our reputation, across a range of UK and international titles. Developing and delivering a media engagement plan for the Tesco leadership team, including media events, interview opportunities, and a calendar of background engagements. Issues management and media handling for a wide range of corporate subject areas, building close relationships with relevant business leaders to understand risks and opportunities. Providing support to other Tesco Group businesses on corporate media issues, particularly those with potential to have a group-wide reputational impact. Line management of the Corporate Communications team, developing colleagues to perform at their best. Managing our relationship with our financial PR agency. In this role you will also be expected to join the leadership rota for out-of-hours press office cover. You will need: Exceptional written skills, including drafting of speeches, corporate reporting and media statements. Proven track record of strong media handling skills. Knowledge of and interest in corporate strategy and financial markets. Ability to work under pressure. Senior financial PR/corporate communications experience, at agency or in-house. Extensive experience of media relations with business/financial media. Experience managing agencies and working with other external stakeholders.
