Business Development Manager
Role purpose
As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the business development team aimed at growing the wholesale bank note client portfolio.
Your mission will be to grow our business in new markets, or with new customers and suppliers by identifying, generating, and following up on new foreign exchange business opportunities across agreed vertical markets.
Key accountabilities
Responsible for the entire sales process, from lead generation and identification, through to commercial and contractual discussions, leading to successful onboarding and service launch
Obtain a detailed understanding of our FX service offering and how these add value to prospective new clients and customers. Matching our unrivalled service capabilities with prospective client’s requirements and in the process building great relationships
Work with the Business Development Director to help create and execute the wholesale banknote business development strategy
Work closely with internal teams that are SMEs in the market to help shape and ensure proposition, pricing and service capabilities are fit for purpose for the market
Work collaboratively with the product teams to identify new product and service developments and enhancements gained from market information and customer insight
Deliver outstanding, best in class customer service, setting Travelex apart from competitors
Represent Travelex at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities
Achievement of agreed KPI’s and proof of concept criteria and measures
Work collaboratively in sharing best practice with Travelex Global heads and Senior Business Development managers
Create reporting suite including regular input into Travelex board packs and presentations
Manage client relationships effectively using CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot or
Role-specific experience and skills
Experience in the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing with proven experience in a B2B sales role
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to negotiate and close deals effectively
Strong track record of outperformance relative to targeted KPIs
Strong commercial acumen and ability to apply solid commercial judgment
The ability to analyse issues, develop solutions and influence key decisions
Ability to balancing risk with reward
Track record of large customer focussed sales in a finance environment

Multilingual Skills desirable. Ability to communicate fluently in multiple languages, with a strong emphasis on English proficiency
Prior experience in the financial sector, particularly in engaging with banks and central banks
