Shaftesbury has announced the official opening of a debut pop-up store in Seven Dials for Rowing Blazers, the cult American clothing brand most well-known for their irreverent take on preppy clothing.

Located on 16 Earlham Street, and spanning 872 sq ft, Rowing Blazers Seven Dials represents the brand’s first bricks-and-mortar British store which offers an edit of product from their A/W’21 collection fronted by Pete Davidson and Ziwe Fumudoh. Key product in-store includes a bold selection of rugby shirts, knitwear, jackets and accessories and the brand iconic and namesake rowing blazers. Visitors will also find a selection of humorous and nostalgic jumpers for the recently relaunched ‘80s knitwear brand, Gyles and George.

Designed in-house, the Seven Dials store mixes the worlds of preppy style with youthful sportswear, offering visitors a wide variety of pieces designed to last a lifetime.

Founded in 2017 by Jack Carlson, Rowing Blazers takes inspiration from both streetwear and more traditional clothing, offering customers a unique synergy between classic designs and contemporary fashion. Taking its name from Carlson's passion for the blazers worn at rowing clubs around the world, Rowing Blazers is famous for its eccentric and unique blazer designs, as well as its exclusive collaborations with other like-minded brands big and small, having produced collections with international names such as Gyles & George, FILA and Babar.

Samantha Bain-Mollison, Retail Director at Shaftesbury, commented: “We are excited to welcome Rowing Blazers to Seven Dials for their first UK store opening. To have this international brand join the destination is a credit to the authentic and eclectic style found throughout Seven Dials and will add to our already diverse offering in the lead up to Christmas. As well as growing the retail appeal of the area, Rowing Blazers has been strategically positioned to strengthen the existing character of Earlham Street as the home of contemporary design, fashion and lifestyle.”

Jack Carlson, Founder of Rowing Blazers, added: “Seven Dials is such a vibrant neighbourhood and to be among so many other like-minded brands is great for our first UK-based physical retail store. We were very selective when searching for the perfect location and Seven Dials’ mix of big name and independent premium brands, as well its emphasis on community, makes it the ideal destination for us to launch at. Rowing Blazers is founded on the idea of community, and we serve as a platform for causes and movements that we believe in, so we are delighted to be working with a landlord that wholeheartedly supports our ethos.”

Rowing Blazers joins the iconic independent British knitwear brand, Warm & Wonderful, who have also opened their debut pop-up at 55 Monmouth Street in Seven Dials.
